Although I am sure that there are some old school Texas Rangers and Colorado Rockies fans who would disagree, my feeling is that there is nothing worse to watch in baseball than a bad team that can’t hit. At least when a team is bad because it can’t pitch but it can score, there are still moments in the game when you are happy and engaged. When your team can’t score, there are really no good moments in a game. Even when your team is winning, the lead is usually so small that you have the sense it won’t last. Right now, the Oakland A’s are just plain bad. They are 1998 bad, but at least in 1998, the A’ s had Jason Giambi, Matt Stairs and Rickey Henderson stealing 66 bases.
