By Sports Network - The Sports Network Tommy Haas made a quick, first-round exit, while fellow seeded players Marat Safin and Carlos Moya advanced to the second round at the $475,000 Countrywide Classic tennis event on Tuesday. American Donald Young ousted Haas, the No. 8 seed from Germany, in straight sets, 6-2, 6-4 on the hardcourts at the Los Angeles Tennis Center. Haas was a two-time champ here in 2004 and 2006, but is now on the outside looking in for the remainder of the tournament. Fifth-seeded Safin of Russia needed little time to dispose American John Isner in dominating 6-3, 6-4 fashion. Moya, the No. 7 seed, needed three sets and a tiebreaker to overcome scrappy Xavier Malisse of Belgium, 6-2, 1-6, 7-6 (7-5).
