State pro feels at home, kinda BY CARLOS MONARREZ • FREE PRESS SPORTS WRITER • August 5, 2008 Last year was the warm-up for Scott Hebert. This year he feels more at home. Literally. Hebert, an Escanaba native and the head pro at Grand Traverse Resort and Spa in Acme, is one of 20 club pros who are in the field this week for the PGA Championship at Oakland Hills. But Hebert is at the head of the class by merit of winning the PGA Professional National Championship in June. Hebert qualified to play in last year's PGA -- his first major -- at Southern Hills in Tulsa, Okla. On Monday, he felt more surefooted on his home turf while going through mundane steps that are routine to most tour stars but seemed foreign to him last year.
