Aug. 4--Patrol focuses on impaired operators The Washington State Patrol called it the "largest and most successful impaired-operator emphasis on land or water in the state of Washington." Organized by the State Patrol's Impaired Driving Section, this weekend's effort focused on Seafair activities on Lake Washington. Participating agencies included the Mercer Island Police & Marine Patrol, state Department of Fish and Wildlife and the State Patrol. To accommodate the marine patrol boats, a temporary 80-foot dock was installed at the site.
