Famagusta Gazette 04.AUG.08 The Free Gaza Movement, an organisation arranging to break the siege of Gaza by sailing two boats there from Cyprus, is furious at accusations that its mission is being used as a front for a gun-running operation. The claims broadcast by Iranian state TV, were allegedly made by Israeli lawyers to the Attorney General of California, where funding for the project originally began. Iranian television correspondent Yvonne Ridley, who is part of the 40-strong group making the hazardous journey, told the Famagusta Gazette that the claims are absurd. “There has been some outrageous nonsense which has suggested this trip is a front for a gun running operation.
