Study calls district schools' food-safety practices 'spotty' By Vanessa Miller Monday, August 4, 2008 Food-choice changes The school district is pulling some of its less-healthy items from the menu this year and replacing other items. Strawberry milk is gone at all schools because of its sugar content. Ramen noodle soup is being eliminated from all schools because of the sodium content. Large orders of fries are being replaced with smaller portions at all schools. Breakfast cereal choices at all schools are being replaced with options containing at least two grams of fiber and less sugar. Choices will include Kix, Wheaties, Multigrain Cheerios, Frosted Mini-Wheats and Honey Nut Cheerios.
