Democratic Alliance (DA) leader Helen Zille says the ANC is in denial about the extent of crime in South Africa. She was speaking at a Victims of Crime imbizo in Durban. Zille says the ruling party is soft on criminals and tough on victims of crime. She says the view by some that ANC President Jacob Zuma should not be prosecuted on his charges of fraud and corruption shows that the government is not properly dealing with crime in South Africa. “By proclaiming that Jacob Zuma will never be brought to trial, the ANC is effectively saying that because he has power he is above the law.
