By: Don Kaye Alice In Chains has nearly completed the writing for its first all-new studio effort since 1995's self-titled third album, according to Blabbermouth.net. The group plans to begin recording this fall, although a start date and producer have yet to be announced. In the meantime, the band will perform on September 20th at a radio festival in Peoria, Arizona, along with Deftones and others. Tickets go on sale Saturday (August 2nd) at all Club Tattoo locations in Arizona and Monday (August 4th) online at tickets.com. Alice In Chains has made few live appearances in 2008, following a headlining comeback trek in 2006 and a jaunt with Velvet Revolver last summer. The group re-emerged in 2006 after a 10-year hiatus with William DuVall on lead vocals. Original singer Layne Staley died in 2002 from a drug overdose....
