By Clarence E Pilgrim Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Heads of Government recently expressed their continued concern over the escalating threats to CARICOM from crime at both the transnational and national levels. Among the measures they agreed upon were the continued move towards the CARICOM Arrest Warrant Treaty, implementation of the CARICOM Justice Protection Programme, the use of the CARICOM Travel Card (CARIPASS), as a mechanism to facilitate free travel within the Region for legal residents and deepening the co-operation between CARICOM and Interpol.
