Furious Lowestoft Town claim Kirkham and Wesham should hand back the £20,000 prize money they earned from winning the FA Vase. Mick Chapman, the joint-manager of K&W's Wembley opponents, has called on Football Association chiefs to force the Warton-based club – now known as AFC Fylde – to return the cash and even suggested a replay. Kirkham won the game the 2-1, but midfielder Ged Smith, who played in the final, was subsequently banned by the club for six months after testing positive for cannabis use. The 25-year-old was among two players who were randomly tested following the FA Vase final. Goalscorer Matt Walwyn's sample was completely clear.
