Long Beach Grand Prix to run April 19

The 2009 event will be the second race on the IndyCar schedule. LONG BEACH -- The Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach will run on April 19 as the second race in the 18-race 2009 IndyCar Series schedule, officials announced today. The IndyCar season will begin in St. Petersburg, Fla., on April 5 and end at Homestead-Miami Speedway on Oct. 11. Of the 18 races, five will be contested on temporary street circuits, three on permanent road courses and 10 on ovals.
