The Tigers lost two of three to the division-leading White Sox. Are the Tigers’ playoffs hopes still alive, on life support or dead? Baseball is a numbers game. There is a stat for every situation and there are stats for situations which the average fan doesn’t even quite get. (Still sifting through VORP). And I’m sure that there are stats which can answer this question well, much better than I can. But to me, this is a feel question. And the Tigers just don’t feel like a playoff team.
