The Jets new nose tackle said it's always been that way, even back in high school when he played basketball and he was asked to eat up space underneath the basket. "I was in the middle, no point," Jenkins said. "I never did the pretty position. I've always been a grunt. I take pride in being a grunt." And that's what the Jets hope he will continue to be. They brought in the three-time Pro Bowler in a trade with Carolina to fill the middle of their defensive line. After two years of trying to make Dewayne Robertson a 3-4 nose tackle, they gave up and switched their focus to Jenkins.
