North Belfast Alliance Party spokesman Gerry Lynch has expressed fears that DUP MP Iris Robinson's latest outburst on homosexuality may fuel an upsurge in violent attacks against the gay community. Infuriated by the First Minister's wife's latest remarks in the House of Commons likening homosexuality to paedophilia, Gerry warned her "irresponsible" comments were both inflammatory and extremely dangerous. Further sickened by Mrs Robinson's attempts to distance herself from her latest controversy by claiming officials had misrepresented her, Gerry said he had confirmation the reports were 100 per cent accurate. The Hansard report was a transcript of a Northern Ireland Grand Committee meeting last month which discussed risk assessment and management of sex offenders.
