Haitian celebration at Palmetto Ridge Hig School Palmetto Ridge has a club that set out to teach the PRHS community about what it is like to be a Haitian student. The best way, they decided, was through a lunch of Haitian food, presentations on the culture and music. Juniace Senecharles had the best smelling classroom in Palmetto Ridge High School. Inside, tables were lined with everything from rice and black beans and macaroni au gratin to hot chicken, plantains and “Haitian patties.” A dessert table at the front of the room held containers of sweet potato pie, brownies, rice pudding and papaya. Mouths were watering as teachers and students grabbed plates and lined up for a taste.
