Glare from the setting sun was responsible for a one-car accident Friday evening that injured a 73-year-old Clinton man, New Hartford police said. Ronald Coleman was driving into the parking lot of Kmart from Commercial Drive around 7:50 p.m. when his sight became limited by the glare of the sun setting over the store building, police Officer J.D. Gehringer said. Coleman’s vehicle then struck a light pole base in the parking lot, causing his airbags to deploy, Gehringer said. Coleman suffered injuries to his face and mouth, Gehringer said.
