ONE of this year’s most-awaited Indian comedy flicks, Maan Gaye Mughal-E-Azam, is edging closer to its release with the launch of its original soundtrack in Mumbai a week ago. The film directed by Sanjay Chel pairs up Rahul Bose with sex siren Mallika Sherawat (the two have acted together in the 2006 romantic comedy Pyar Ke Side Effects). Also starring in the movie, which is expected to be a rib-tickling affair, is comedian Paresh Rawal as emperor Akbar. Renowned Bollywood music director Anu Malik is the composer of the soundtrack. On the music, Chel said: “There is a feel of remix in the music. Anu Malik has used Rag Darbari and we have kept the ghazal (poetic form) so we haven’t ruined the original song.
