'Mythbusters' takes on sharks with help of Florida-based boat crew

By TIM O'MEILIA Palm Beach Post Staff Writer Few things are more strange on the ocean floor than a red-haired guy in a custom-made suit of armor strolling casually among a squad of uncurious 8-foot lemon sharks. Maybe the sharks were uninterested because armored television host Adam Savage was un-chummy, chum being the shredded fish guts and other parts used to attract the deep sea predators. 'MythBusters' schedule Shark Week special, 9-11 p.m. Sunday, Discovery Channel: The crew from the Gulf Stream Eagle, based in Riviera Beach, helps hosts Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman test whether chili pepper and magnets repel sharks, whether flopping fish attract sharks and other myths.
