Belgrade assembly session postponed

BELGRADE -- The Belgrade Assembly’s session scheduled for Monday has been postponed for 10 days, because of "the situation in the city". The postponement was proposed by the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) following the street protests and attacks on journalists over the past few days. The LDP says that the capital’s ruling majority could be formed on Monday, were it not for the new circumstances.. The Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS), however, say that nothing has yet been arranged, and that negotiations have yet to begin. Senior New Serbia (NS) official Dubravka Filipovski said that the postponement showed that the new coalition between the SPS and the Democratic Party (DS) was not working and that the capital needed new elections.
