By Sports Network - The Sports Network Top-seeded Jelena Jankovic of Serbia and fourth-seeded Russian Dinara Safina will meet in the next round of the $600,000 East West Bank Classic after their quarterfinal victories on Friday. Ninth-seeded Russian Nadia Petrova gave Jankovic all she could handle, but the Serb slipped past for a 7-5, 6-4 win. Safina, meanwhile, had little trouble with eighth-seeded Victoria Azarenka of Belarus, cruising to a 6-3, 6-1 trouncing. The other semifinal match will pit wildcard Bethanie Mattek against 10th- seeded Flavia Pennetta. Mattek, a Florida native, dispatched of Yuan Meng of China in a 6-2, 7-5 battle.
