Telltale, Hothead Discuss the Lessons of Episodic Content

Sam & Max, Penny Arcade designers share their insights on the rebirth of adventures. Yesterday at San Diego Comic-Con, four developers from Telltale and Hothead presented a question-and-answer panel on episodic gaming and the rebirth of the adventure game genre -- true adventure games, that is, the ones where you able through a low-stress environment and use various found objects to interact with characters and their surroundings. Representing Telltale, best-known for the Sam & Max series, were Dave Grossman and Dan Connor. Arthur We and Joel DeYoung sat in for Hothead (Penny Arcade Adventures: On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Doom), and GameTap's Frank Cifaldi -- responsible for the upcoming American McGee's Grimm -- moderated.
