Skerlong get first career Atlantic series pole

Herald news services EDMONTON, Alberta -- Mukilteo, Wash., racer Carl Skerlong has qualified inside the top four for ever race thus far in the 2008 Cooper Tires Presents The Atlantic Championship Powered by Mazda season, but it wasn't until Friday that the American scored his first career Atlantic pole position. Skerlong placed his No. 14 King Taco machine on the pole for Saturday's second race of the Rexall Edmonton Indy doubleheader in Friday's qualifying session with a best lap at 1:05.455 (108.514 mph).
