For the first time in nearly six weeks, we have some good news related to gas prices. Crude oil is hitting new lows at $125 a barrel. But while gas prices have lowered at some stations, others are still hovering around $4. People are paying $3.55 in Aberdeen. Minnesotans are paying $3.79, and it's $3.93 at this Get-N-Go station in Sioux Falls. A price 38 cents higher per gallon than northeastern South Dakota. So why the big price fluctuation? "Sometimes retailers will try to hold on to a profit margin for as long as they can," Mark Madeja with AAA said. "It also depends on when retailers are buying the product at the new price." Meaning Aberdeen stations have likely purchased gasoline at a lower cost. In Minnesota, prices are 20 cents lower.
