PETALING JAYA: Ong Beng Hee and Mohd Azlan Iskandar set up an all-local men’s final on a day when world No. 1 Nicol David stayed on course for a fourth straight Malaysian Open women’s title at The Curve in Mutiara Damansara yesterday. Nicol needed 43 minutes to beat third seed Rachael Grinham of Australia 11-3, 7-11, 11-1, 11-6 and set up a showdown with second-seeded Natalie Grinham of Holland. Natalie had earlier packed off fourth seed Tania Bailey of England 11-8, 11-7, 9-11, 11-5 in the other semi-final. Nicol was pleased with her game, especially her good start compared to the previous two rounds. “I was more focused today (yesterday) while Rachael made a lot of silly errors and the pressure was on her,” said Nicol. “It will be another tough battle in the final. I hope to put up a better performance tomorrow (today).”...
