Impinj trims staff after busy month

After spinning off its semiconductor design unit and gobbling up Intel's RFID unit earlier this month, Impinj is trimming back its work force. The Seattle maker of radio frequency identification products laid off six employees this week, a move that spokesman Jim Donaldson said was needed to "eliminate duplicate or unnecessary functions."
