Teens injured in horrific Perth crash (ABC)

A 16-year-old girl has had her leg severed in a car crash in the Perth suburb of Willagee. Police say she and a 17-year-old boy were rear passengers in a car being driven along Northlake Road around 9.30 last night when the driver lost control. The car mounted the median strip before hitting a powerpole with such force it nearly tore the car in half, and ripped the pole out of the ground. Police say a witness then saw the car become airborne and flip over. The male passenger has serious internal injuries and fractures.
