Tasmanian footwear manufacturer Blundstone has made nine more workers redundant. They have been laid off in the final round of about 250 redundancies offered by the company after it moved some production offshore. Blundstone is eventually looking to expand production again and plans to launch a new gumboot machine. Mark Edwards from the Textile, Clothing and Footwear Union says the job losses may cause problems for the company in the future.
