MADURAI: The 17th annual meeting of the Indian Eye Research Group (IERG) will commence at the Lions Aravind Institute of Community Ophthalmology here on Saturday. Over 120 delegates from all over the country will participate in the two-day meet that will discuss latest trends and developments in research in stem cell, genetics, proteomics, cell biology and ocular pharmacology. According to N. Venkatesh Prajna, Chief, Department of Medical Education, Aravind Eye Care System, which hosts the event, the highlight of the meeting will be the presentation of Dr. G. Venkatasamy memorial oration award to Fielding Hejtmanick, Chief, Department of Genetics, National Eye Institute, USA.
