Saturday, July 26, 2008 By our correspondent LAHORE: The Zonal Managing Committee of All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (Punjab) has expressed concern that the industry operating in Punjab and NWFP is suffering from location disadvantage because of being away from seaport and weather vagaries. In a meeting of the APTMA Punjab zone held here, the members requested APTMA chairman to take up specific issues of the spinning industry with the prime minister. APTMA members demanded that research and development and drawback facilities given to the downstream industry should be offered to yarn manufacturers as well, who were facing the same cost increases as other sectors of the textile industry.
