Brown-Forman board approves executive compensation (at bizjournals.com)

reported Friday on the compensation of its top executives for fiscal 2009. In a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, the company revealed the following compensation packages, with base salaries effective Aug. 1: • Chairman and CEO Paul C. Varga, base salary $1,005,209, short-term incentive $1.25 million and long-term incentive $2.17 million; • Executive vice president and chief financial officer Donald C. Berg, base salary $541,667, short-term incentive $260,000 and long-term incentive $600,000; • Executive vice president and COO James L.
