Rumor: Rush Hour Director Confirmed for God of War Flick

Brett Ratner (Rush Hour, X Men: The Last Stand) is set to direct a film adaptation of God of War, if you believe brief snippets in otherwise unrelated studio press releases. "David Self’s credits include 13 Days and Road To Perdition. He wrote God of War for Universal, to which Brett Ratner is attached to direct," said the press release heralding MGM's upcoming reboot of the RoboCop franchise. I think rebooting RoboCop is a terrible idea bound for failure (probably with a cast of teens most famous for stints on the Real World), but signing Brett "Let's Cast Chris Tucker As Kratos" Ratner to helm the God of War film almost guarantees a horribly cliché cash-in.
