Bahrain King Demands Harsh Response To Shi'ite Protest

Following Bahraini King Sheikh Hamad bin 'Isa al-Khalifa's demand to punish the residents of Shi'ite villages and regions, who are protesting against discrimination and demanding the release of Shi'ite political prisoners, the Bahraini government has decided to halt the development plan being implemented in various Shi'ite villages and to fire any official participating in the protests. Bahraini Salafi MP Jassem Al-Sa'idi even asked the army to plan to take control of all government institutions if the opposition launches a civil rebellion.
