By Patrick Goodenough, International Editor Libyan Leader Muammar Gaddafi (CNSNews.com) – Libya’s harsh reaction to the arrest in Switzerland last week of Muammar Gaddafi’s son reveals the sensitivities of a state whose ruling circle is usually exempt from criticism. Demanding an official apology, Libya has ratcheted up tensions with a series of retaliatory steps taken against Switzerland, including a halt to some oil shipments on Thursday. The small European country sourced 49 percent of its crude oil imports from Libya in 2006, according to government figures. The dispute was triggered by the arrest of Motassim Bilal (aka “Hannibal”) Gaddafi and his pregnant wife after they allegedly assaulted two domestic servants in a luxury hotel in Geneva.
