Couple plans demolition derby wedding

FAIR HILL, Md. - What's a destination wedding when you could have a demolition wedding? A couple whose love blossomed over the crunch of cars at the Cecil County Fair's demolition derby plans to marry at this year's derby Saturday evening, with wedding-themed cars that will collide after the vows. Donald Veasey proposed to Tina Holcombe at last year's derby, and his bride figured it would be fitting to marry at this year's derby. Veasey will drive a black Pontiac Bonneville sporting a top hat made of sheet metal. Holcombe has a white Chevy station wagon with pink hub caps and a large tiara. Instead of numbers, both cars sport gold bands on their doors. The Rev. Harold Phillips from Pleasant View Baptist Church in Port Deposit says he may even work the theme into his homily.
