Travel-Blogue Day 7: Muhammad Yunus, the Movie Posted by: Steve Hamm on July 24 Well, Muhammad Yunus has his Peace Prize, and now a Hollywood movie may be coming close behind. It turned out that a couple of the guests at the Pacific Inn Hotel in Dhaka, where I stayed while reporting about the Grameen organization, were revising a script for a Yunus biopic that’s under development. Eric Collins, whom I didn’t meet, is a Hollywood script writer and heads up the revision team. Helping him out was Amirul Arham, a Bangladeshi expat living in Paris (out by Euro Disney) who has been making documentaries about poverty fighting for decades and made a film for French TV in the late 1990s based on Yunus’ book, “Banker to the Poor.” Amirul is both a colorful character and a true progressive.
