In exchange for maintaining the preferential price for Moldova until June 2009, Ukraine demanded that Moldova imports electric power from Ukraine from two operators. The export price and volume will be fixed by Ukraine, IS Energocom says in a communique. Energocom is the commercial operator that imported power from Ukraine into Moldova between March 2005 until present. Ukraine has announced that if the conditions are not accepted, the contract with Energocom will be terminated and the power supplies to Moldova will be halted. The management of Energocom said that the power line Artiz – Bolgrad will supply power to Odessa bypassing Moldova.
