KELLAH LAVOIE The Prince Albert Daily Herald Back to Batoche signifies the retention of culture. With people from all over Canada and the United States visiting for the celebratory event, many variations of Métis culture were shown. Bob McLeod, a member of the Back to Batoche committee, said the event helps keep the culture alive for the area since Batoche is such a central point of Métis heritage. He said it is a way to get youth involved. And seeing them jigging along with the adults gives him a good impression. "It is important so we carry that tradition on," he said.
