Saint John will be looking for a new police chief as its top cop moves to a position with the province's criminal intelligence service. Chief Allen Bodechon has been the head of the force in the port city since October 2004. But in January he'll be leaving the force after serving for more than 30 years. "I've had an excellent career, and it's all about timing and the timing was just right," Bodechon said. "I had an opportunity to pursue and I'll be doing that." Bodechon will be serving as the director of Criminal Intelligence Service New Brunswick, which reports to a national bureau, mostly on organized crime, and shares information among police forces.
