Catwoman case investigated

DNA evidence in 'catwoman' murder trial under attack STORIES of real-life murder cases – unlike their fictional counterparts – are often left with as many questions unanswered as solved. This is clearly the case with what has become known as "the catwoman murder". In the early afternoon of Sunday, March 1, 1998, the decomposing body of veterinarian Kathleen Marshall, also the chairwoman of the Cat Protection Society of Queensland, was discovered in the downstairs clinic of her home in Wilston, on Brisbane's northside. Sixteen cats and three dogs, unfed and distressed, were upstairs. A post-mortem examination showed she had been stabbed 52 times, leaving 2cm to 4cm wounds in the upper part of her body.
