Article Date: Friday, July 25, 2008 MILFORD, Conn. — The USA U-15 Mavericks played the New Jersey Americans in the U-16 AAU invitational tournament this past Friday afternoon. Chris Cole was the starting pitcher for the Mavs and he surrendered one run in two innings. Steve Miller pitched inning three and four and allowed seven runs, John Yeoman pitched the final three innings and allowed one run. The Mavs fell behind by eight runs after four innings. Home runs by Ryan Coppinger, a long triple by Tanner Chase and a double by Quinn McCann helped to bring the Mavs back to within three runs. The final score found the Mavs losing 9-6. Tanner Chase had three hits and Coppinger two. Others getting hits in the losing cause were Kyle Gaffney, Nick Leishear, Aidan O'Leary, McCann and Kato Lacroix.
