An Oromocto, N.B., woman who had given up hope of getting Elton John tickets for her husband, a soldier in Afghanistan, received a surprise on Thursday that landed her two seats to the show, thanks to the mother of a soldier who was killed serving in Afghanistan. Marcie Curnew wanted to purchase tickets to the Elton John concert at Harbour Station in Saint John on Sept. 30. But after spending 12 hours online trying to buy tickets on Saturday she still hadn't managed to get seats. Curnew's husband, Tim, has been stationed in Afghanistan since February and is expected to return to Canada in early September.
