News: Demand rises for alternative-fuelled cars Demand for alternative-fuelled cars is on the rise at second-hand car auctions, according to a new report by British Car Auctions. The BCA report examines the relative price performance of petrol, diesel and alternative powered cars and it says the data found an increasing demand for alternative-fuelled and hybrid cars, although volumes remain small. article continues below The report says diesel cars sell on average for around £1,000 more than petrol models, however, looking at the price performance of cars sold there appears to be a growing demand for alternative power, despite these vehicles generally being older and higher mileage at the time of sale.
