A city man is charged with ripping off a local homeowner. Police arrested Richard Matthews, 24, on Tuesday afternoon following an investigation that began Monday morning when a woman reported her home had been burglarized, Nashua police said in a written statement. The woman told police her purse had been taken during the burglary, which had occurred sometime during the previous night, the statement said. Police traced to the burglary to Matthews, of 7C Beacon St., accusing him of attempting to use the woman's debit card at a local business, according to the statement. Matthews is charged with domestic violence burglary, a class A level felony, according to the statement.
