Special to the Progress Mother’s Day is a long-established, tradition-filled kind of day, and a day for which custom dictates that Mom get served breakfast in bed. Those who are truly slaves to the past will dig up a full-fledged bed tray and will set upon it a jelly glass filled with water and dandelions, fresh-picked by the children. Mother, of course, will loll around in a demure bed jacket waiting for the cherubs to teeter upstairs with her tray, upon which will sit a coddled egg and crustless toast, which has been cut into triangles. There will be a glass of fresh-squeezed orange juice. In the evening, the family will scrub up nicely and take her out to dinner. A corsage would not be out of order. Sigh. Few moms will get such old-fashioned pleasantries, but for anyone planning Mother’s Day breakfast, help is at hand....
