Clarets fans may have been concerned that our new signing, Remco van der Schaaf has been sidelined in recent weeks and has only managed to feature in one pre-season friendly so far. He played from the start of the second half in our first pre-season friendly against Cary U23 during the US tour but has not even been named on the bench in the four friendies that have followed to date. The 29 year old former PSV Eindhoven and Vitesse player has missed out on the Minnesota Thunder game in the US and the three Scottish Tour matches against Queen of the South, Partick Thistle and St. Johnstone. It is now known that the Dutch midfielder has not played in these games due to a thigh problem.
