Boys and girls from Bulgaria dominated the Tennis Europe 12 & under Development Championships, hosted by Ankara Tennis Club. Ankara also played host to the fifth ITF/Tennis Europe South East Regional Training Camp and for the first time these players had the opportunity to take part in the championships. The development championships were played in a multiple round-robin competition format. In the girls event Terziiska Djulia (BUL) dominated from the beginning, winning all her matches. Bulgarians Donev Gabrilel and Alawi Andrei met in the deciding match of the boys’ singles. Andrei imposed himself from early on and won easily in straight sets 62 61. The camp, which ran from 3-7 July under the supervision of the ITF expert Ales Filipcic (SLO), attracted 34 players and nine coaches from the Balkan and Caucasus region. During... [read full story]
