For the African media, one clearly defined prescription for success does not exist. Amid global noise surrounding the digital age and a plethora of political pressures, each media outlet and house is rather taking its own uncharted path towards success. In this context, discussion of what does and does not work has become more valuable than ever to African media leaders. The Africa Media Leadership Summit, which has been held annually by Rhodes University’s Sol Plaatje Institute for Media Leadership and the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAS) for seven years now, is one important platform for this.
