With youth spread throughout the lineup, the Milwaukee Brewers started giving their fans true hope again last season. That excitement has grown more lately following the addition of ace lefthander CC Sabathia. The Chicago Cubs still lead the National League Central, but they can practically smell the Bratwurst on the charging Brewers’ breath. After taking three of four against the St. Louis Cardinals at Busch Stadium, the Brewers moved into sole possession of second place in the NL Central and trail the Cubs by one game heading into a three-game series starting tonight against the Astros at Miller Park. For a team in need of positive news after being swept by the fifth-place Pittsburgh Pirates, the last-place Astros at least can find some solace knowing they won’t face the Brewers’ top two pitchers in the series.
