BARBERTON, Ohio-- --Babcock & Wilcox Power Generation Group, Inc. (B&W PGG) has been awarded a contract by the Solid Waste Authority (SWA) of Palm Beach County to refurbish two B&W Stirling ® power boilers at the North County Resource Recovery Facility (NCRRF) waste-to-energy plant in West Palm Beach, Fla. The contract is valued at more than $30 million. B&W PGG will design, supply and fabricate critical boiler component materials including furnaces, superheaters, combustion systems and steam drum internals. B&W PGG will also update the NCRRF’s furnace and combustion system to incorporate a straight-walled furnace design with a state-of-the-art PrecisionJetTM overfire air system.
