Toronto (51-51) vs. Seattle (38-63), Friday, 7:07 p.m. ET BALTIMORE -- The Blue Jays have guaranteed John Parrish nothing beyond his start against the Mariners on Friday, as general manager J.P. Ricciardi remained non-commital about Parrish's chances of staying in the rotation. "We'll see after Friday," Ricciardi said on Thursday with a shrug. There's no clear-cut candidate to replace Parrish, but he could nonetheless still be auditioning to keep his job. Ricciardi's comment came one day after the Blue Jays promoted David Purcey from Triple-A Syracuse. It was believed that Purcey could've earned the call if Parrish continued his up-and-down ways.
